The White Horse, Hedgerley

Slough, Windsor & Maidenhead branch of CAMRA are pleased to announce that The White Horse, Hedgerley has won the branch Pub Of The Year, 2017 award. Following this award, the pub goes on to the Regional finals.

The Pub Of The Year award went to the White Horse in recognition of its high quality and ever-changing wide range of ales, many from newly established breweries. In addition the White Horse holds two large beer festivals held each year serving ales from all over the country.

Cider Pub of the Year 2017, (CPOTY) & runner up POTY.

The Perseverance, Wraysbury

Slough, Windsor & Maidenhead branch of CAMRA are delighted to announce that Nick & Sarah at The Perseverance, Wraysbury have won the branch Cider Pub Of The Year, 2017 award. Following this award, the pub goes on to the Regional finals. In addition they were runners up in the Branch Pub Of The Year (POTY) competition.

The Cider Pub Of The Year award was given to The Perseverance in recognition of its good range of real ciders and its annual cider festival in July.

David Howard Award

The Stag & Hounds, Farnham Common

The Slough, Windsor and Maidenhead branch of CAMRA is delighted to announce that the David Howard Award for Publican of the Year for 2016 has been awarded to matt Clark, landlord of The Stag & Hounds, Farnham Common.

Many congratulations to Matt and all the staff for all the hard work they have put in to promote the cause of Real Ale at The Stag & Hounds. The David Howard Award is presented in honour of a Slough, Windsor and Maidenhead CAMRA member and former committee member who died at a young age.

The award is to recognise the publican who has done the most to promote Real Ale in the area in the last year. It could be increasing the range of real ales that a pub serves or serving ales in particularly good condition. This is for somebody who goes above and beyond what is expected of a publican. Not only have they been given this award, but The Stag & Hounds has been voted into the CAMRA Good Beer Guide for 2015 & 2016.

The presentation of the award to publican Matt Clark took place at a recent branch meeting held at the pub. The award, a piece of stone shaped like a pint of beer, was presented by branch Vice-Chairman Allan Willoughby.

Vic Powell Award

Oak & Saw, Taplow

The Slough, Windsor & Maidenhead branch of CAMRA are very pleased to announce that the Vic Powell Award has been awarded to Ian and Karen, at the Oak & Saw in Taplow. They have been strong supporters of Real Ale at the pub over the past 12 years.

The Vic Powell Award is an occasional award presented in honour of a CAMRA member and former branch chairman who died at a tragically young age. The award is presented in recognition for long service at a particular establishment and support of Real Ale through the years.

Many congratulations to Ian and Karen, and we wish them continuing success at the Oak & Saw.

The award presentation was made on Thursday 8th September at 19.30.

Slough, Windsor & Maidenhead Summer Pub Of The Year.

Dew Drop Inn, Hurley

The Slough, Windsor & Maidenhead branch of CAMRA have reintroduced the award for best Summer & Winter Pub Of The Year.

Many congratulations to Luke and Charlie, and we wish them continuing success at the Dew Drop Inn.

The award presentation was made on Bank Holiday Monday the 29th August at 14.30.
