  • Kent Rail Micropub Trail - Part 2 Saturday 24 November 2018 11:00 St. Pancras Mainline Station

THIS IS A BRANCH SOCIAL led by Alan Molloy (07864 020570).

As you are probably know, Kent has the highest concentration of micropubs in the country.

We will all meet at St. Pancras mainline station at 11am to catch the 11.25 South Eastern train to Faversham/Ramsgate. It will take 15 mins at least to walk to whole concourse down to the National Rail ticket office, where we will meet. The Super Off-Peak Day Return costs £32.90 and allows you to leave the train at each station and get back on! I suggest you wait for all the group to be present, because two of the people coming have Network cards giving a group discount. Once we have tickets we need to walk, with the Nation Rail ticket office in front of you, to the right, the high speed trains go from platform 11 which is up an escalator.

My initial thoughts are to start tour at Rochester, which we missed in part 1 due to a Dicken's festival, and then on to Faversham, Whitstable, Herne Bay & Ramsgate to visit some of the best micropubs in Kent. Most are in GBG 2018 and in each case no more than 5/6 minutes walk from the train station. I have allowed 1 hour for each micropub, but that includes the walking. If it is too rushed I will just get as far as we get.

More details to follow after I have completed a DRY run!
